Many people already know that listening to music while training motivates them to train harder and longer. Music also helps you forget fatigue! It’s not just about choosing the songs that you like. It’s not just a matter of choosing the songs you like. Judi Sheppard-Missett, founder and CEO of Jazzercise, recommends choosing the best songs for your workout playlist because the beats per minute and tempo can affect the effectiveness of the exercises.
Music Survives
Carl Foster, Ph.D., of University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, Train and Health Program, says: “You can go back all the way to the rowers of the Roman Galleys.” “The man sits there and beats on his drum, which drives the rhythmic power of the rowing. A part of that’s coordination–you need the rowers to row collectively–however a part of it’s that folks will naturally comply with a tempo. It’s just the way our brains function.”
Beat the Tempo
Two songs of the same tempo may have very different effects on our training. The BPM of an exercise music must be between 120-140, which is roughly equivalent to the average person’s heart rate during a workout. Dance music is a musical genre that always has a high BPM. You will hear it in Jazzercise classes or in dance clubs.
Dance to the music
Costas Karageorghis Ph.D. from London’s Brunel University College of Sport and Education, one of the world’s foremost authorities on music, exercise, and sports, says that “music is like a drug authorized for athletes.” It can reduce the feeling of effort and increase endurance by up to 15%.
Selection Cuts
The best songs for exercising have a high BPM and a rhythm that allows you to coordinate your movements. The synchronous music is what drives the intensity of the workout. The faster the beat, then the higher the intensity.
Strong Gold
The Jazzercise Playlist (available from iTunes) contains the current hit music played at schools. You’ll find songs such as Girl’s World by Cher (138BPM), Can’t Maintain Us, featuring Ryan Lewis by Macklemore (143 BPM), and Proud Mary, by John Fogerty. This mix of artists will help the audience increase their heart rate as the category advances.
You can maximize your workouts and burn more calories by selecting the right playlist. This is music to the ears!
